Home Maintenance is never ending. Here is a list you can plan on using over the summer:
- Check any backyard play equipment you may have for your children or grandchildren. Be sure they are in good working order and safe to use.
- If you have a vegetable garden, be sure to keep the weeds down so your veggies can flourish.
- If you have pets, check them for fleas and ticks.
- Power-wash your driveway. Since Colorado has been known to get late spring snow storms, it is a good idea to wash any grime and mag-chloride off the surface of your driveway in the early summer, after the snow season has ended.
- Apply concrete sealer to sidewalks and driveways. Most sealants cannot be applied below specific temperatures. Summer it a great time to do this since it isn’t cold out anymore, besides, you just cleaned everything with a pressure washer.
- If you noticed the paint on the home was in need of repair during your spring examination, now it is time to fix it. Painting exterior latex paint when there is a chance of freezing is never a good idea. Early summer is the best time to take on this type of project.
- Check all window and door locks for proper operation.
- Check the exterior of the home again for pests and insect infestations.
- Have your roof inspected and make any repairs that may be needed.
- Early summer before temperatures get too high is the best time to replace any concrete around the home. Plan accordingly.
